5 Things To Do In & Around #WilCo This Weekend

A few weeks ago, we highlighted some events and activities in Wilson County for the kiddos in your life. So this week, our blog will focus on activities for the adults – so call the babysitter, grab your friends, and let’s get this weekend started!

1.  Put on your dancin’ boots and head to Cahoots!
Cahoots Dance Hall & Honkytonk is hosting a special event on Friday, January 26th , featuring a live performance by Parmalee, and special guest Kasey Lyndall. Dinner will be available and catered by Blue Moon Bar-B-Que. Tickets are $25 at the door, or $20 if purchased in advance by clicking HERE.

2.  Feeling outdoorsy? Head to Long Hunter State Park for a wildflower identification class!

In this Wildflowers 101 class, participants will learn the basics of plant identification to flowers common to Tennessee. The material learned in this class will serve as a foundation for future wildflower identification classes to include flowers such as roses and buttercups! The class, led by Ranger Rawlings, will take place from 11AM – 2PM and is $10 per person. Registration is required for this class and can be completed by clicking HERE.

3.  Know a “wine-o”? Well wine-not head to Cellar 53 Winery!
Between the hours of noon and 6PM Thursdays through Sundays, Cellar 53 Winery offers tastings of their small-lot, handcrafted wines. The wine list varies month to month, so if you haven’t stopped by in a while, then there are new menu items to try! One particular wine, Independence Red, is currently in stock at the winery for purchase. For every bottle of Independence Red sold, $1 goes to the Fisher House for Veterans.

4.  Attend a FREE parenting workshop!
The Lebanon Campus of the Bridge Fellowship Church is hosting a parenting workshop from 9AM – noon on Saturday, January 27th. The workshop will include sessions such as Living Successfully with a Strong-Willed Child, Surviving the First Two Years of Parenting, Navigating the Early Elementary Years and Help! Is My Child Normal? Speakers from the Branch Counseling Center will also be featured. The event is free, but registration is required. To register, click HERE.

5.  Find some zen and combine yoga with salt therapy!

On Saturday, January 27th, the “Be Still and Breathe Salt Room” in Lebanon will be holding a “salty yoga” session. This session combines the stress relief of yoga with the wellness benefits of salt therapy! This session has limited availability, so to reserve your spot, click HERE.
